Position Summary

Bryant University, Smithfield RI, a NCAA DI member of the Northeast Conference, is seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant Coach emphasizing in Throws and/or Multis. The position will begin August 2017 and reports to the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities will include: assisting with all aspects of operating a collegiate program, including daily practices, recruiting, videotaping, home meet management, fund raising, student-athlete academic success, travel, compliance with all NCAA, NEC and Bryant University rules and regulations, etc.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
1) An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
2) Enrolled into a Bryant University Graduate School program or have immediate plans to enroll into a Bryant University Graduate School program
3) Should have collegiate and/or high school experience in track & field. Coaching experience in Throws, and/or Multis is desirable
4) Other duties assigned by the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field.

The candidate must have the ability to effectively recruit and retain quality student-athletes and the ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms. A successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate student-athletes in a group or individual setting. The candidate must actively support the mission of the university by working with faculty, staff and students to share in our mission to educate and inspire students to discover their passion and become innovative leaders of character around the world. The candidate must complete the NCAA coaches recruiting exam, pass all background checks, including a driving background check and travel is required.
