Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Parent Engagement helps coordinate and implement Bryant’s comprehensive parent fund raising and engagement program, under the direction of the Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement and assisted by the Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement. This position includes an emphasis on actively fostering the engagement, solicitation and stewardship of parents, as well as managing a personal portfolio of parent prospects to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward annual leadership gifts in support of the University’s funding priorities in conjunction with the Expanding the World of Opportunities; the Campaign for Bryant’s Bold Future comprehensive campaign.

Principal Accountabilities

. Coordinate and staff a comprehensive and integrated calendar of parent programs, including the Parent’s Council, to immerse parents in the life of the University. Activities and events will include the ongoing engagement of an active Parents Council, Parents Orientation, the 4-Mile and International Parents Orientations, Parents Weekend, Commencement and other key Bryant parents’ events throughout the year.

. Actively collaborate with partners across the campus that will strengthen the engagement of parents and families with Bryant, will serve as the liaison between Alumni Engagement, Development and the Office of Admissions, Student Affairs, and the Amica Career Center, and will serve as a primary conduit of information/communications between and among these offices and parent prospects.

. Manage a pool of assigned parent prospects, developing relationships through personal visits, on campus engagement activities, correspondence, phone calls and attendance at events, and will develop strategies for solicitations based on personal knowledge of prospects and the funding priorities of the University.

. Support Bryant’s goals for enhancing parent engagement and participation as part of the Vision 2020 Strategic Plan and in support of the Expanding the World of Opportunities: the Campaign for Bryant’s Bold Future Comprehensive Campaign.

. Participate in developing appropriate prospect cultivation and stewardship strategies determining potential giving opportunities and optimal gift levels; provide regular reports of all activities through designated reporting methods and inputting information in the Development database.

. Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies and materials relating to parent giving including conventional print media in addition to social media platforms.

. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of University programs and priorities and its administrative and financial organization.

. Provide logistical support as required to assist in University events and activities, and

. Perform related duties as assigned

This position is best filled by an individual with an undergraduate degree; two to four years of demonstrated success in fundraising and capital campaigns, preferably in a higher education setting; experience in the effective use of social media; experience in recruiting, motivating and managing volunteers in successful fundraising efforts; ability to plan and think strategically; detail-oriented, but able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong interpersonal, writing and communications skills; and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and various University constituents. Travel and non-standard hours are required.

Working Environment

Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position.
